It’s beginning to look a bit like Christmas. Sort of. Well, alright not really. A few shops in town have started to turn over their floors to Christmas Stuff, including one of my favourite places for Christmas decorations – Butlers on North Street in Brighton.
A Christmas Club might sound like the sort of thing I would be a (the only) member of, but it’s actually a neat old-fashioned way of saving up money for Christmas to give you a tidy lump sum to spend on all the extra food, gifts and toot you’ll inevitably buy in the run-up to Christmas. Think of it as looking out for your future-self.
It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a Christmas fanatic in possession of Christmassy things, must be in want of more Christmassy things. To this end, there is no better way to stave off the immediate post-Christmas blues than by buying loads of things in the January sales, for next Christmas.
