So we have 101 days to go til Christmas 2014 and there’s a big change coming our way that is going to make this Christmas very special indeed. And he’s kicking me right now as I write this.
Little man is due mid-late November so however timely (or not) he chooses to arrive, he will most certainly be here by Christmas. My maternity leave is due to commence early November, so I’m hoping to get myself in ship shape for crimbo 2014 in the few weeks before the baby drops, at least that’s the idea anyway.
My husband and I celebrated our second wedding anniversary with a little babymoon trip to Disneyland Paris recently, so I’ll soon be sharing some advice on visiting Disneyland Paris when pregnant, as I found the advice out there to be generally quite thin on the ground or a good few years old.
Today marks the day that we are now closer to next Christmas than the last. It’s six months til Christmas and the countdown is on. Whoa there, Nellie, you might say, but I’ve scarce put the winter wardrobe away, regretting that decision as the wind blows a hoolie and the rain lashes down. Well, fine, if that’s how you want to play it, Summer, then bring on Christmas!
So at this midway point in the calendar, it feels like it’s time to revive the blog and look forward to my most favourite part of the year. Coming up over the next few months:
- I’ll be making a regular feature looking at how Christmas is celebrated in countries around the world
- Raiding the back of the larder for the last jar of mincemeat in the house and turning it into a selection of spiced treats to brighten up a wet weekend
- Making the most of our early jump on Christmas by starting up a Christmas Club
Finally, last but not least, I’ll also be adding a whole new section to the site about planning a trip to Walt Disney World at Christmas. Mr & Mrs Christmas will be visiting The Mouse for a couple of weeks in December this year, and whilst I’ve managed to find bits and pieces of information about what goes on at Chez Disney around the festive season, it will be good to pull it all into one place to share. I’ll be adding park guides, resort highlights and special events that you’ll only experience during the Christmas season at Walt Disney World.
Until next time, Feliz Navidad!
Do you love Christmas? I sure do. Collecting Christmas catalogues, magazines and books is a seasonal hobby of mine and so it made sense to bring all this under one roof – a one stop shop for everything Christmassy. Need some gift ideas? Don’t know what to wear to the office Christmas party? Want to know where the best Christmas pudding comes from? When are the Christmas lights switching on? All this, and much more, is right here at MrsChristmasBlog.com
How did this blog get started?
I stood in front of racks of magazines looking for something full-on festive to read on a train journey one afternoon but all I could find were Christmassy-spin offs of regular mags – cooking, homes and interiors, fashion – there was nothing that spanned all these areas with a pure focus on the time of year I hold so dear: Christmas. So, here we are! Perhaps I’m the only one who likes Christmas so much that they’d want to read page after glossy page of all things festive, or perhaps I could share all my Christmas tips, tricks and know-how to bring you the cream of the crop.
I love to hear from readers, so if you have something wonderful about Christmas you’d like to shout about then drop me a line and let’s talk! Got a product or event you’d like featured on MrsChristmasBlog.com? Get in touch, I love to hear about new and exciting ideas for the Christmas season.
The site is in the process of a cosmetic makeover as we speak, so watch this space for a Scandi-inspired vision, brought to life (or your screens) by the very talented Martin Taylor.
