Getting started with Christmas 2013

It’s beginning to look a bit like Christmas. Sort of. Well, alright not really. A few shops in town have started to turn over their floors to Christmas Stuff, including one of my favourite places for Christmas decorations – Butlers on North Street in Brighton.

“Earth to Santa, come in Santa”

I picked up this super cute glitter space robot (£6.99 – Butlers) and had a hard time choosing between this guy and their fast-food baubles including glittery cheeseburgers and hotdogs.  They even have dinosaurs! Butlers stock some of the campest Christmas decorations I’ve ever seen and I am managing to sneak one or two into the collection per year. “Look! A poodle-in-a-tutu-bauble! I need this.”

I made the fatal error of adding a tin of Christmas biscuits to my last grocery shop and, as you can see, we correctly disposed of the contents into our mouths. Thanks, Ocado. I don’t think I was expecting it to last til Christmas, but a week would have shown some restraint (I have no such thing).

christmas catalogues 2013

Christmas catalogues and gift brochures have started to land on my doormat/in my shopping bags and  it’s making me think about drawing up the first of many Christmas gift lists. Just people-to-buy-for to begin with, so I can start to think about who would like what when I’m wandering around town.  I’d love to say that I’ll be bringing home lots of presents from my upcoming holiday to Disney World, but I think we’d need an extra suitcase for that.  Maybe it’s time to go suitcase shopping.
